ICE CREAM SOCIAL

By Claude Edwards

A new activity at the Blind Community Center was an ice cream social, which took place on Thursday, July 6. Although most of the attendees were BCC members, others dropped in to see what was going on. By noon, the room was alive with the light-hearted banter of participants, seated generally 4 to a table, although this changed as more people arrived. A dedicated table was set up for serving vanilla or chocolate ice cream from large plastic tubs.  Toppings such as crushed nuts, maraschino cherries and fruit-flavored cereal were added to the ice cream in a bowl or onto a crunchy sugar cone.  It was so much fun that the BCCSD will have Ice cream social Thursdays, at noon, every Thursday for all of August.
