Sensei Mario Schapp worked extensively for several years to develop “ Tekio Jutsu†an amazing system of teaching individuals with disabilities or challenges. This program has recognized wonderful results in teaching martial arts to the Blind Community and others that may have obstacles and challenges on their journey to Black Belt! Sensei Schapp’s comprehensive program acheived major milestones and accomplished goals for the Blind Community that are unprecedented in the martial arts industry.
The Blind Community Martial Arts Mission:
To improve ones life quality through mental and physical Martial Arts training.
The Martial Arts program began in November 2005. At first we offered informal Self Defense classes. In 2008 we began implementing structured curriculum, formal testing protocol and competition participation. Our students participated at regional, national and international competitions.
In January 2012 we were officially recognized by Chunjido International as a certified Martial Arts training center. Our instructors and assistant instructors were certified and well trained with many years of experience in the Martial Arts.
We taught the hybrid martial arts system “ Tekio Jutsu†, which utilizes Karate Techniques, Forms( Kata) as well as Distance Control and Balance Exercises from the deep roots of fighting. Self Defense Drills were based on Traditional and Modern Jiu Jitsu.
