The BCCSD was filled with positive energy and warm aromas emanating from the auditorium and kitchen as AT&T Pioneers hosted a pancake breakfast on March 18. The breakfast fundraiser attracted more than 70 participants. Menu items included Mexican breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage and hash browns, and a delicious Mexican egg bake, in addition to the generous serving of pancakes, butter and syrup, standard with each serving. They even had a mixed fruit option.
An enthusiastic group, working in the kitchen included AT&T Pioneer volunteers, Lions Club Volunteers, BCCSD Board member Christie Greene and her family, and SDSU volunteers. Christie’s nieces and nephews took our requests and brought food to our tables. Everybody was friendly and kind. Among the attendees were BCCSD members, their guests and friends, as well as BCCSD Board members Sharlene, Ethel, Debbie, Lyn and Gwen. We were also pleased to have on hand representatives from local Lions clubs, AT&T Pioneers, residents from the neighborhood and teachers from Roosevelt Middle School. All heralded the breakfast as an enjoyable event.
The Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday, March 18th, was a big hit and raised much needed dollars for the Blind Community Center. Thanks to AT&T volunteers who cooked the breakfast, served and escorted our members to their tables.
