On September 10, surfers left the BCC at about 8:30 am. They traveled by way of the BCC bus with Al Hooper driving. It was a beautiful sunny day and the surf was up. Almost everyone got in the water and tried out the surf, with dedicated volunteers standing by, in the water. First time surfer, Jonny, was pleased to find himself standing and surfing, even if it was a short trip. Pro, blind surfer, Scott Leason and his guide dog, Snickers were on hand to offer support and inspire new surfers. BCC President Sharlene Ornelas encouraged her group from the BCC and was in the water more than she was out of the water. Breakfast and lunch were included and everyone had a fun day. If you did not surf with the BCC and Encinitas Lions this year, we hope you will try it next year.
