We are looking for enthusiastic, can-do people to help us with our fundraisers. We are currently working on the October Spaghetti Dinner, our See’s Candy Sale, our November Coupon Ticket Books project, our December Nights project, our Vice President’s Carlsbad Marathon fundraiser effort, and a Pancake Breakfast planned for either February or March.
To help with fundraising, call Christie Greene, Ways and Means chair, at 619-280-8058
Will you lend a hand and set up or decorate, escort our visually impaired members, assist at the table side, clean up, secure raffle items, or sell See’s candy? You name it, we need you!
We need drivers for the vehicles that provide transportation for members to and from events. We have daily, weekly, monthly, and special event opportunities. When we don’t have enough drivers, some members are unable to participate in events. You don’t need a special license to operate the vans, however a Class C license is required for the shuttle buses.
Call Aurora Ortiz, volunteer coordinator, at 619-298-5021, ext. 204
Tuesday Night Walk Guides
Sighted guides ensure that more BCC members are able to participate in these fun walks.
Will you help our members with their many craft projects? These include beading, ceramics, loom knitting, leather crafting, copper pressing, yarn crafting, and more.
The receptionist welcomes and directs visitors and answers the phone during business hours. Two- to four-hour shifts are available Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
We need help with sweeping, mopping and general cleaning. Anything you would clean at home, we need to clean here at the center. It’s a tough job, but very much appreciated.
Do you have media contacts or know how to help us get our message out? Our Ways and Means Committee would love your help.
